Who is
Daniel Agbetsi Maxwell, Jr., and why
should you care?
Honestly, whether you care much as to who he
is as an individual, or not, is totally up to you and the state of mind
you find yourself in at this point in time. As to who he is, well we’re going
to get to that. What matters to him most right now is for you as an
individual to realize that there’s more to you than you think! You are
SMARTER, WISER and more intelligent than you can ever
imagine.
Now about him and his
philosophy: If
nothing else, the preceding paragraph should tell you that Dan's passion
is HUMAN DEVELOPMENT. There’s
nothing he finds more fulfillment in than contributing to the better
development of his own mind, and the minds of those around him. Daniel
subscribes to the thought that we can render to God and to our
fellow humans, no greater service than to make the most of
ourselves.
Â
Daniel was born on October 15th, 1985
Monrovia, the capital of the West African nation of Liberia. At an early age,
he sensed his purpose of helping others become more. Though he did not
realize it as such, he always felt the need to help fellow classmates who
were falling back in mathematics and general science by offering his time
after school hours to explain to them different ideas that they could use
to better understand those subjects and perform better in
tests. His efforts were
well received; and those who took advantage of the extra studies
began to perform better.
Â
In 2003, during the heat of the Liberian
Civil War, Daniel fled to the United States, not knowing were the rest of
his family was for a long period of time. Fortunately, when he did get in
touch with them, they we all safe.
During his stay in the U.S., Daniel began a few business ventures,
learning new lessons (rather than failing) every step of the way. One of the lessons was especially
expensive at the time: to the tune of $15,000 U.S. dollars.
Â
Daniel went on to begin
studying great minds like James
Allen, Wallace D.
Wattles,
Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins, Bob Proctor, and Zig Ziglar
, Joel Osteen, T.D. Jakes and a host of other incredible
people. Probably the greatest impact on his life came from Wallace D. Wattles’ series, The Science of Abundant
life
. This incredible collection includes the all
time classic, The Science of
Getting Rich, The Science of being Great, and The Science of Being
Well.
Â
After years of intensive self development, in early
2006, Daniel started The Agbetsi Group, LLC, an Information Research and
Business Consulting Firm in Minneapolis, MN where he served as its
President. He returned to his
native Liberia in 2007 to contribute to the rebuilding of that nation
after 16 years of civil war.
Today, Dan serves as the Banking Operations Officer and IT business Analyst
for AccessBank Liberia, the first full service commercial bank primarily
serving Liberia’s micro-businesses. He is charged with the responsibility of assisting
the Management Board in the areas of Product and Policy development,
Recruitment and Training, as well as bridging the gap between the business needs of the bank that the technical functionality of the banking system. Aside from his work at AccessBank Liberia, Daniel runs a small consulting practice in Monrovia, formulating business plans and project proposals for small businesses and non profits respectively. He also selectively provided career counseling and well as other research activities. .
Daniel is very involved in his local Church and community, and has spoken to over 500 young people on the importance of having a positive self image, and staying focused.
